art, magnificent photos! Would you please tell us a little bit more about the technology in that lens? Also, what is a real world price? Thanks, John

I have a few questions for the more photography literate members on the board. If you were going to buy a Cannon SLR digital camera with this autofocus 100 to 400 mm lens, What would your second lens be?
Can a 2x teleaconverter be used with the autofocus lenses?
For a shorter lens I would be interested in something both for macro and portrait photography.
Again, great photos Art. John

I'm not the best qualified person to answer this but i do have a canon 20D and i've looked into alot of lenses. So if i could afford them these would be what else i bought. Besides the one you get with the camera. second lens Macro Doubler I don't have a clue as to the portrait lens? i'm not into that so i can't help there. Hope it helps Paul

Forgot to answer the question about the 2x. You can use it with the AF feature depending on available light. once you get to the higher end you will need to use the manual focus to get the pictures you want. Same with Non digital cameras. Paul
