Hey everyone, I was in a local gun shop and found a nice Marlin 444 (pre-safety, Monte carlo stock) and a nice Marlin Camp 9, which were both priced at 400. I know these are two different guns, but was hoping to see, what people thought was the best gun to buy. I appreciate the input.

Well they are about as different as Pick up and an MX 5.
Hunting .... go w/ the 444
Home defense ...... the 9mm

parts are getting scarce for the marlin model 9, in addition the model 9 needs a new buffer every so often. the 444 might be better for hunting but personally i prefer 45-70's for ease of finding ammo off the shelf. just mho.

Matt,
It depends on your needs. Just want a blaster, low recoil or home defense -9mm
Want something to hunt with - 444.
I had a 9mm camp gun once. I liked it and shot it regularly. Uses S&W mags. Buffers are cheap.
