I have a Marlin model 3080 and can find nothing about the history or worth of this rifle in 30-30 . Anyone know anything? It is a "Trail Rider commemorative" with a gold trigger.

If I'm not mistaken, the 30X0 rifles were made for OTASCO, the "Oklahoma Tire and Supply Company" (or something like that).

Each year for a few years they did a few thousand of these "Commemorative" rifles, featuring a different Western theme each year. (I think The Alamo was one of the others.)

They're essentially Glenfield model 30A rifles--meaning hardwood stocks.

As far as I know, they have no special collector value, but they're still perfectly serviceable Marlins.
