I have a Litschert 8x Targeteer for the Lyman Alaskan but do not know any details on how to attach it to the scope other than at the objective end. Any help on how to properly mount it on the scope and any other information about this attachment would also be appreciated.

Well if I can't get you to sell it to me, damn!

On the objective end of the Alaskan tube, there is a teeny tiny screw flush with the tube body. Take that out AND DONT LOSE IT!
The objective lens is screwed in and usually has some goop on the threads for sealing. Warm the objective end with a hair dryer on low and you should be able to unscrew to the objective lens with rubber gloved on (the grippy ones) DO NOT LOSE THE OBJECTIVE LENS !

Holding the scope with the now open end down, GENTLY, tap it to drop out any crud you may have dislodged.

With a clean white cotton sock clean off both the female threads in the tube and the male ones on the Litschert. Also a good time to clean the inside of the Litschert lens with Q tips and isoprophal Alchol. Put a TINY amount of synthetic oil on the Litschert threads and screw it in all the way. BE CAREFUL, easy to cross thread.
Replace the teeny tiny screw and you're ready to set your parralax and shoot.
Great units, real quality and work very well.

I buy every one I see. Neatest one I have is a 12X multiplier that fits an early (small objective) K6. All put together it is 18" long and will hold 1/2" 5 shot groups from my ancient 722 222.

Enjoy!

I have an 8X teleconverter on a Lyman Alaskan and found that an old plastic 35mm film container was a good place to store the objective lens. Now that nobody shoots 35mm film and there aren't a gazillion plastic film canisters around anymore, I've found that the plastic coin tubes with screw-on tops fill the same void, but you have to pay for them!

I followed 45/70's advice and it went on perfect, now must try the scope on my Charles Daly Lil Sharps in .30 WCF.
