Found this post on CanadianGunNutz... posted by forum member Bullwhip. I'm sure this isn't a surprise for those in the know but thought I'd post.

Neat find: Hornady stamped brass in Winchester bag
I grabbed a new, unopened bag of virgin Winchester .45-70 brass two weeks ago from a retailer in town and set to reloading them today.

I break the seal and set them into my loading blocks when I notice 2 of these things are not like the others.

Surprise, two of the brass are Hornady head stamped.

Not earth shattering, but I thought it interesting to find. Am curious if it was just an end of run switch over oops or what happened.

Wow.

Earth shattering news.

I'll call CNN, FOX and the AP.

LOL, Hey, I live in southern Canada....grin

You wouldn't believe how many Canadian flags fly proudly in MT. Mostly along the north/south freeway gas stations, truckstops. but it's not a new thing. When I was a kid it was normal to see the maple leaf flying alongside the U.S. colors, at rodeos, and the Canadian anthem would play right after the U.S. anthem to kick off the proceedings.

We're essentially good neighbors in these parts.

Oh, don't get me wrong...

I never said there weren't Canuck qualifiers down here, and by the score and bushel.

Damn right, there isn't a day that goes by that I'm not thankful for a great neighbor to the north. Feel for AZ and the like.

Oldest rodeo in MT still has a girl ride in with the Maple Leaf. Canadian national anthem follows right after ours.

Right in between songs is always a good time to crack open another cold Bud....grin

Sam, Montana Marine and ingwe;
Thanks for the kind words gentlemen, I do appreciate them.

While we've not been to a rodeo in a couple years, they always seemed to me to be pretty evenly stocked with north/south competitors.

Actually nobody would blink hearing the announcer say the cowboy was from Utah or Texas and as I said, about half were from Montana, Wyoming, Idaho or one of the Dakotas, the rest coming from one of the three western provinces most often.

Oops, I see I forgot Washington state too, which usually has decent representation in BC rodeos for sure.

We usually do the Stars and Stripes and the US anthem at the rodeos up here too.

Sadly, I've heard some of us Canucks get a little carried away from time to time when we get down stateside though, as all your bargain priced alcohol is just too much to pass up - for some of us....well that's what I've heard only. laugh

To the OP, I apologize for continuing the hijack, but pursuant to your topic, I've only run across Hornady marked brass in .270 so far here and it seemed OK to work with. It beat the last Imperial by a large margin for sure! laugh

The nicest brass I've ever bumped into was some '06 RWS stuff, maybe match? The primer pockets and flash holes must have been done on a lathe as they were perfect.

Oh and no, I've not tried Lapua yet, so that might even be made with more care than the RWS.

Anyway, thanks to our good neighbors from Montana for the vote of confidence, even though Sean isn't sure about us yet! wink grin

Have a good weekend folks.

Regards,
Dwayne

Helluva lot rather have Canucks for neighbors, than damnyankees or ghetto rats.

Trade y'all, as we've got PLENTY of the latter categories to share...

Sean;
I hope this finds you and yours acceptably well tonight.

Unfortunately for all concerned, even the most casual inspection indicates we could both find enough "trading stock" in our respective countries to make the recipients of said trade, "less than satisfied"! wink

Have a good weekend Sean, hopefully with your family doing something fun together.

Regards,
Dwayne

My friend, the inventory here would stagger ANY up there...

We're hanging in, and hope yours are well.

Thanks for asking.
