what exactly is this stuff? Winchester offered it for only one year in 2003, there is virtually no published data using it, and Hodgdon has no info either. it's made in sweden, i've seen some say its repackaged RL19 or RL22, others say its one of the Norma powders. i picked up 5 lbs because it's cheap, and have found a bit of interweb data, but nothing definitive.

I have never used it but a quick search came up with this and it includes data. Bear

i found that a while ago, unfortunately not much in there, and you're SOL of you want to load a cartridge not listed.

I've been using it for the last three years in my 7STW,7mag,300 WSM,300 Win mag,30-06 and 270 Win.It chronographs nearly identical to Reloader-22,so keep that in mind when working up loads with it.From what I've researched about it,the company in Sweden who makes powder for Norma, also makes Reloader-22 and made Win. WXR.They may be lots of Norma MRP that were not up to spec. Remember powder can vary slightly from lot to lot,so start low and work your way up.

Winchester has had a dreadful time trying to make a slow ball powder that doesn't pressure spike in certain cartridges (notably the 243 Win, BTW). They were so desperate to have a slow powder of some kind that they resorted to re-packaging an extruded powder.

Rumor has it that WXR is indeed RL-22, and load data would support that idea. If you have a decent amount of WXR on hand, you'd be wise to begin using RL-19 or RL-22 recipes beginning at START levels. All the usual disclaimers apply.

I just bought a lb. of Win780 Supreme. My hope is to use it in my 6MM. Some years ago this 6MM really liked Win.785, which is no longer available, so I'm hoping 780 will give similar performance. I'll use it with 95-100gr bullets. Anyone out there have any experience with Win.780 Supreme?

Winchester seems to come out with a new flavor every few years and they never seem to hang around.760,748 and 231 are staples in my powder locker and always seem to work well for certain applications.

I've used WXR for a few years now. I use rel-22 data and have not had any trouble at all. It works well in my 30-06 with 180gr bullets, the 260 with 129gr Hornadys, and my 243 when using 100gr Sierra GK.

Graf's had 1# cans for $14 and it workes well. They also had 8# jugs for $107 last year so I bought one and now am covered for awhile.

I don't drink or Smoke. I spend my money on gunpowder and gasoline.
