Just wanted to let folks know that I'm planning on retiring my original (and current) login and re-registering under another handle. Personal reasons. Sorry for the waste of bandwidth, but don't want to mislead anyone.

just get a sock puppet and post under both. All the cool guys do that.

Kamo Gari - sounds like it has a meaning, or should have anyway.

It must be related to the wild duck and self interests rather than other translations or the wolf fish.

I don't care if he changes his handle to Sally; one pic or hunting story and I'll know who it is.

Randy was the only one of my buddies who threw me off-guard with his changed handle and it took me a while to figure it out.

Kamo = Wild duck

Gari = self interest

If I were to spin it as Leighton has I suspect it means interested in wild ducks. In his case, mostly introducing them to a load of steel #2's.

You don't need to start a whole new personna and ranking, I am pretty sure you can change your name in your personal settings and keep all of that. I could be wrong. Also might be a good idea to reference the old name inn your signatre / tag line.

I think RB might have to do it for him.

Japanese is a kooky language. Pugs is correct, sort of. 'Kari' means 'hunter'. 'Kamo' is 'duck'. *Conjugated*, 'kari' in this instance is changed to 'gari'. In short, it means 'duck hunter' in Japanese.

I would ask Rick to change it for you. Beats copying all your PM's!

Haven't read the whole thing so pardon me if this was already suggested. Just contact Rick and ask him to change your handle. You're probably going to PM him anyway. Your stats and info won't change that way, just your handle.

Under "edit profile" there is a setting for "change display name"

Enter your new handle there, wait till it registers (mine took about 24 hours) and voila.

Your login will still be lhonda though.

It's nice to be on a board where people can spell "voila".

When I first joined I posted under my actual name. I soon thought better of that idea and not knowing any different, I simply went into my profile and changed my name. It went through with no fuss or muss. I don't know if it's still that easy though.

shouldn't it be "Viola"...you know, like the ladies name???
