I've been doing some research regarding taxidermists in Juneau. Four companies keep popping up, they are:

Woods & Water Taxidermy
4187 Old 60 Rd
(920)696-3382

RAK Taxidermy
4307 Taku Blvd
(907)957-0138

Northstart Taxidermy
10006 Crazy Horse Dr.
(907)374-3784
or
2001 Fritz Cove Rd.
(907)789-0945
or
661 Alta Court
(907)364-3784

Rug & Rak Tacidermy
2001 Fritz Cove Rd.
(907)789-0945

I notice that Northstar seems to have moved around a lot and they have shared an address and phone phone number with Rug & Rak. What's the story on that? Is that one company?

Has anyone had experience with any of these taxidermists. Please review good, bad & ugly.

Scratch Woods & Water. They are located in Juneau Winsconsin.

Bob Sherf is Northstar. His daughter is an assistant at the dentist I go to. He's been around for a while and does good work. I keep asking his daughter for one of the old Northstar bumper stickers with a caveman dragging his dinosaur along with the phrase - "you snuff 'em, we stuff 'em."

Buddy of mine has some deer and sheep mounts done by him. Haven't heard anything bad about RAK.

Don't be jinxing your selfself now. - You're putting the cart before the horse on this one.

Remind me what you're hunting out of Juneau again?

Did Bob Sherf have his shop located downtown in the 80's?

Muskegman:

I'll be hunting black bear near Kake. After the hunt, I have a ten-hour lay-over in Juneau before going to Sitka. I'll be staying in AK for another week, so I can't take the hide home to my local taxidermist.

You're right. I don't want to jinx myself. So I hope I have this problem to deal with.
