If you had 8 preference points deer where would you go.. I am thinking about trying a timberline tag or a late season whitetails out east. I don't want to waste them..

I would never burn 8 points on a whitetail tag. Some units have whitetail only tags that can be had for no points.

I wouldn't burn 8 pts on Whitetail tag either. You can draw with Zero pts and there are a few quality deer out there.

Ha! We need to talk about fall stuff when you get a chance. May be another one hiding in some far off place!

If you're willing to consider timberline hunts, then 74 or 82 should be right up your alley

Lee, what a wonderful specimen. Nice going my man!
I'm reading betwixed the lines here - you slayed that with Drummond? He's another guy where big stuff has a tendency to die when he's around. wink

Its a great deer. I killed it in Eastern CO with Aaron Neilsen and Co. Drummond was there. He did not guide me, Patrick Montgomery did. Great guy, fun to be around, and knows his stuff. Drummond was guiding another hunter during the time I was there but we spent some QT together and will stay close. He scored in the high 160's as a 9pt with that broken brow. Probably would have been over 170" with it intact. 300lb deer. I have posted it a few times around here but haven't really gotten into the story or put up a big fuss bout it. PM me and I'll give you the details if you care at all. Thanks for the compliments.

I sure appreciate that but unfortunately I wasnt hunting with him! I was hunting another ranch quite a few miles away and having a tough go of it! We killed a nice buck but it wasnt the big deer that was passed on opening day.

Lee and Pat took a video through a spotting scope the day before they killed it and showed the video to me that night at the hotel. What a GIANT buck! They texted me throughout the day and I had to settle for living vicariously through text messages as they killed it. Pat told me that it was an unreal shot.

There were deer killed that scored more points this year but I'm not sure there was a "better" deer killed all season. I dont know if that makes any sense at all but Lee's buck was just BIG everywhere! Couldnt have happened to a nicer guy
