Hi Stan.

We are going to come and look in SC in a year or two. It may sound a bit goofy, but we want to look for an general to retire to. Or move to when the kids are out of the house. It's a long ways off right now but IMO it's not too early to think about it.

Every snow strom and I'm that much closer to working in FL at this point.

I've never been to SC, but my friends and family that hav been, love it there.

I wasn't kiddig, if I would have had my boat in FL, I'm not sure I would have come back.

come on up and see for yourself! smile thanks for rubbing it in
I had just managed to see some grass in my yard and took my boy out for a walk yesterday and today for some fresh air and a little exercise, now looks like we're socked in for a bit.

Yeah this is some strange weather for sure! Today was windy as heck. Then rain. Then little sleet balls pounding everything. Then thunder and lightening along with the sleet balls and wind. Then everything quit and it was just calm. I was thinking that it wouldn't surprise me if tornados started popping up with the weird weather.

I see the blizzard is making its way through North Dakota though so its on its way. The Red River does NOT need a big dump of snow right now. Thats for sure!

Stan,
Love the way you worked that little rib in there! lol

I have never been to South Carolina. I always say that if I ever move south, it would be to east Tennesee. I have been to the Knoxville/Smoky Mountain area a few times and I absolutely love it there. But I think I would miss MN lake country too much to stay there for very long.

Ice fishing. Why do you guys go fishing for ICE?Seems like you have enough of it already. We go fishing for FISH and you can fish all year long.
It is nice here.We are four hours from the beach and about 45 minutes from the mountains.Linda and I moved here from Atlanta in 1997 to be centrally located to all the kids and grand kids.I lived in Atlanta from 1967 to 1997.I should have moved to South Carolina a long time ago.People are great and the cool springtime Carolina mornings are something that has to be experienced to believe how great it feels.
Deer season starts Aug.15 for archery.Sept. 15th. for muzzle loader and Oct. 15 for gun season which then runs thru Jan.1.For $5 each you can buy up to four use anytime doe tags plus there are alloted doe days when you do not have to use doe tags.
I could go on and on but it really is a great place to live.

Best I can tell is that we got about 5" of snow s far. That doesn't include the 3/4" of rain yesterday.

Over a foot of snow North of Wausau and more on the way.

Temps are in the mid 20's so it's slick as heck out on the roads.

We had one heck of a lighning and thunder display last night including thunder sleet and snow.

Wind is gusting over 30 MPH which is going to make snoblowing interesting.

We got about 4" as far as I can tell, it's still coming down. It was nasty on the way to work. I left at 5:45 and got to work at about 5 till 7. Normally takes about 1/2 hour.

Stan, keep the couch warm, I may be headed your way. smile

Still coming down here too. I just finished up with the snow blower. What a freaking mess. mad Snow on top of ice on top of slush. The blower just rode on top of the ice so there's a good inch of crap left to deal with. Temps are suppossed to remain in the 20's for at least 3 more days so it will really set up.

Stan, do you want company? smile

we ended up with not much snow after all, I thought it was gonna be a doosie, but alas we skirted the worst of it. ended up with an inch or two of snow, some wind (as usual). not really a big deal. if it slows the thaw and helps with the flooding I'm all for it!

on a side note I got a call back on a job opening in Huron, SD.
same job as the one in KS only in a diff state. its next thursday I go down for it. fingers crossed!

Good luck brother!

Wife stayed home and worked from there today. She said at least 10" of snow fell by noon. Forest Lake, just 3 miles to the north, got a foot by noon. crazy

It's heavy stuff too.

talked to my buddy who lives 25 miles west just over the state line, he got a foot of snow, lots of blowing and drifts up to 3' in his yard. our new snow melted off with the sunshine today, least from the roof and cars smile nice to know we didn't get the worst of it this time!

thanks for the well wishes! this one has good potential and its not too far
