back in the day, John Kenneth Galbraith use to wail on about the countervailing forces of big gov't, big corporates, and big labor.
us lowly commoners had to pick and choose a piece of the holy trinity in which to align.
have we got past that, and the lowly commoners have a legitimate role to play, or is still all about the Counterveiling Forces??

I'm sure John could spell countervailing, even if he was a complete nutcase.

Big labor marginalized, big government working at the behest of big corporate. With the marginalization of big labor, the rest of us have less voice than the tiny voice we had previously.
Democracy is not freedom. Democracy is two wolves and a lamb voting on what to eat for lunch. Freedom comes from the recognition of certain rights which may not be taken, not even by a 99% vote. *Marvin Simkin* L.A. Times (1992)

I'm sure John could spell countervailing, if if he was a complete nutcase. if i was the Prof, you'd likely recieve extra credit for the fine point in the details. on a larger scale, i'd believe Milton Friedman holds to a theory closer to the Truth. the Freedom to Choose is hard to beat.

"If I were the Prof." (There fixed it for you)
(Personal pronouns are capitalized) (In a condition contrary to fact, The past subjunctive must be used)
Milton Friedman was a genius, but far too few listened. Unlike those of us the Nuns who taught grammar with an oak 48", 3/4" diameter pointer, not always used just to "point".

All power comes from the barrel of a gun. The commoners can own guns. That makes them more powerful then businesses and unions. This is especially true there is a full moon or under the influence of strong dring. So there is a 4th countervailing force that is especially strong when the full moon fall on St Patricks day.
