Someone is confusing a 99 358 Brush Gun with a 99A.

Could you please explain the difference between a Model 99-358 Brush Gun, and a Model 99A - or was it that the .358 chambering wasn't an option for the later (ca. 1980) Model 99A ?

The 99-358 Brush gun has the "beaver tail" forearm. The 99a had a Schnabel forearm and a lighter contour.

Have to say I really prefer the 99f 358's. The true modern 99a's are likely not as common.

Yeah it's a nice plain gun. I seem to recall some of the experts here crapping all over mine with the 4X wood and Leupold Alaskan w/mounts for $2200.
BTW it has sold for $2200 ..... who is laughing now ?

Larry, nobody cares if you sold a rifle FINALLY after having it listed for 2 years. And actually I don't think you can list it as sold, since it's technically probably still on "layaway" and can't be shipped for 6 months, ya know.

And, yes, we're all still laughing at an elderly gentleman who is so pitiful that he hangs around someplace where he's detested. How many different accounts have you created now to keep ahead of Rick banning you?

Well Cal hoooon if he doesn't pay for it in June (not 6 months) then he is defaulting on a contract. While I realize contract law is not your strong suite, those who default lose their deposit (and I still have the rifle). Somehow I think given the buyers perfect F/B he will not default. BTW I didn't sell "a rifle" actually quite a few.

Do I really care if it takes two years ? Why should I ?

Got this one listed too (bought it here, funny how sellers don't care whom you "detest" now isn't it ? ) Pretty good price on it too and it too will sell at my price.

So go cry to Bin, the brat pack already has, but with 1000s of ISP addresses it hardly makes a blip on my radar.

I also missed the part where you were selected to speak for "Everybody" since you seem to know all about "Nobody".

Seven posts every day year in and year out ....... guess nothing much else to do in "fly over" country. Chuckle!

Pay no mind to this idiot. He is a world class troll who has nothing better to do than go about stirring up trouble. His hubris knows no bounds, which surely is the defense mechanism for his severely retarded social skills. I sometimes wonder whether he is 70 years old or 14. Oops, i take that back. That is unfair to the 14 year olds out there!

Bwahahahaha!!!!!

Is that the 250F you bought off a member here for $1600!

Trust me, three of us are still laughing over that fleecing everyday of the year here.

There is a difference between an R and an F .... apparently escaped you.

You also apparently don't know much about the value of high condition Rs in 250.

Still a blue book believer eh ?

Not too nice calling the fellow who sold the rifle a "fleecer" ..... think that would qualify for a FTF discussion.

Enjoying your collection of Savage handguns up there ? LAFFIN!

I think the R in question is the bottom one but I can't be sure unless I opened the safe reserved for 99s. Back in the kennel bow wow.

Isn't there a retirement home calling your name somewhere?

Only one piddly 99 safe? Let me know when you reach 4 and we'll talk amateur.

Thanks for the pic of the R, never seen one of them yet.

Must have touched a nerve huh?

This buffoon has changed ID's again! What's up with that? I suspect it's because so many people rush to block him that it's the only way he can sneek in his troll verbage. That will be my next step after hitting the send button for this. (And this guy is the only person I've ever blocked on the Campfire.)

I don't know whether to despise the [bleep], or pity him for having to live with his own twisted self.

1) No Difference Between the R and F Except 2.o inch's in Barrel Length.

2) 250 RS- Pre-war? or Ladder Model?- The Latter Model worth 400.00 dollars , A Prewar worth a lot more

3) Blue Book sets Prices way to High!

4) Na it's the Middle One. With the Funky Front Sight

I don't know much about this guy, but I'll take yall fellers input as a good sign. But Ive been looking at this rifle, what I see is a post-mil,I like post-mils cuz most people don't, most likely a DL with that barrel length, with replacement wood since the lever doesn't match up to the stock correctly, slobbered with some kinda crap to make the wood glossy.

So, to the OP, we don't take kindly to crappy bubba jobs like this. If you're gonna hoodwink some guy into buying this mutt of a rifle, post pics elsewhere.

FWIW, The barrel says "Savage Model 99 Series A Cal. 358"

And apparently, the seller has just made a price reduction.

Series A doesn't mean it's a 99A, though that can confuse folks.

Wild Bill's answer about the stock is the key.
