This is when it's good to only have an ocean view, not an ocean front . We'll know about 2300 tonight if it's really coming. Would like to have a couple of hours notice that something was really coming to go pull my boat. Guess we'll find out when it hits Vancouver Island -- if it really happens.
Thanks for the thoughts... .

Saw that on the USGS website. They cancelled the tsunami warning and watch a little while ago. No big disappointment here .

Well, keep an eye out!
They say that the "BIG ONE" often follows a big one on the other side of the planet. Usually 6 months to a year later. We are in that time fram now after the 9.2 in the Indian Ocean.

Mike:
It was in some of the reports after the "Big One."
It was not widely reported, but on THE SAME DAY as the Calif. quake. there was a 7.9 quake directly to the South, in Chile.
Two big ones on the opposite side of the world (from the Indian Ocean quake) in the same day! A very rare thing.

A 7.0 isn't really that big, unless you're in a mud hut region. It's the 8's and 9's that do the real damage. I grew up in California and thought I knew quakes, then I moved to Alaska
