I was going to post something similar to your post but you were quicker.

I killed a few with my first rifle, a 30-06 then a 25-06, 270, 308, 243, 300WM, 375 Win, and lately a 6.5x55. All the deer fell over and died after the shot.

I can't say either did better than the others. I did shoot through a live oak tree on my very first deer, with a Sierra 180gr bullet and the 30-06. Consider myself pretty lucky on that one. I don't recommend anyone try it.

Now I'm looking for things like recoil, trajectory, under MOA accuracy, and all that internet stuff many seem to write about so much. Sometimes I wish I could go back and just hunt like I did before I paid attention to all this stuff. smile
