Price check on Used Marlin 1894 44 mags precross block safety. The Blue Book has 98% guns at $300.00 and 95% guns at $250.00 Does that seem reasonable? I`m buying not selling.
Thanks, Dennis

My neck of the woods, they would go a bit higher, maybe around the $400 mark. I would buy one for $250 all day long if not abused.

Dennis...
coltfan is in the same town as I am. So his $$ figures correlate with what I mentioned to you the other day when you PM'd me as well.
I have been in that market and I tell you... 1894 Cowboys are a BUY at $575 to $600, especially with 24" bbls . And the 1894 44 mags are a good buy at $425.
I too would buy allllllllllll day long at the book vaulues you mentions and i would turn around and sell them for $100+ profits all day long. They are hard to find and go quick when ever priced below $400, like almost immediately.
Most of what i was finding hovered right around the $500 mark and you could talk an occasional owner down into the $425 area.
Good luck on the search.

Thanks for all of the info guys. I thought the BB prices seemed low compared to what I was seeing for sale. I found two nice ones for $450. I just missed the first one, it had a williams peep on it. I snagged the second one, it`s in really nice shape with a 4x Tasco. What`s the best peep sight in your opinion? I noticed the XS sights they seem good.
Thanks, Dennis

I would jump on it now. Just look at the prices on auction sites, if you need a push.

Sounds pretty low to me. I would gladly buy as many as you can get in 95% condition for $250. That would be a steal. But then I have never put a dimes worth of value to the "Blue Book". Ask Gander where that got them. Tom.

Some of their values seem realistic. But they were way off on the 1894.

Best peep sight in my opinion would be the Skinner sight.

Mink,
I`ve been checking out the Skinner sight. The black and gold sight would look great on the 1894 with the gold trigger. I think I`m sold, thanks.
