Hello Fellas! I decided to do some spring cleaning on my son's EG and found "Bubba" had worked on it. The lever boss sleeve was out of it's notch so I decided to handle that while soaking a few screws from the scope mounts. I placed my screwdriver in the lever boss screw and it immediately tore out the slot. I had not put very much pressure on the screw. Further investigation revealed that Bubba(previous owner)painted a plastic screw black and used it in the lever. I was pissed, to say the least. Bubba even put a lock washer under it. Everything else looked good, no broken parts, paper clips or bobby pins. I am going to freshen up the wood with some oil and have begun de-gunking the metal parts. I don't expect any real problems.
Having said all that, would any of you fellas know where I can get a real lever boss screw? It looks like Gun Parts Corp. has one for the late model C (mag fed), will it work?
I plan of finishing this one before I do my old C model. I'll take some pics of the EG when I'm finished. I also wanted to check in with everyone. I will be looking over all of the posts I've missed out on. Later!
