It sounds like I should contact them regarding the space the scope and the ring. Where did you get that?
I replace valve cover gaskets every 50K, if they don't need them sooner...

It strikes me as funny to discuss the looks of rings on a stainless plastic stocked rifle. It's a tool.

That's not my rifle in the pic. That is the pic I was looking for and it is ingwe's rifle showing the Remington/Durasight scope mounts. Heck, you know me better than to run a Burris.............

Well, I have to agree with Swampy about the looks of SS/Synthetics so I picked up these at a garage sale yesterday......$75 for the pair. Some guy named Miller made them.

I've owned the Durasight version. They are really nice, and solid. They weigh more than the Talleys, and they are painted black. I did not lap them, and they fit fine. I actually thought they fit better, and looked better than the talleys, but like I said, they are heavier...

Shame you couldn't find a good action to build on.

ROTFLMFAO he won't know what they are. There is the small matter of the durasite rings weighing more then the talley rings because they have a zinc alloy.

They should consider production overseas, for the QC is poor, at least with this set. C'mon man.....seriously? A single example and you want to outsource.

LW Talley are outstanding with the proper install. Gunwereks Aaron Davidson has a great online description on how to. As far as looks are concerned put me in the eye of the beholder column. I like them alot. I believe the Remington look alikes have a two screw format per bridge were as the Talleys are four screws per bridge.
Talleys are mounted on most everything I own accept for a Sako.

and countless other companies... What a shame to think it's the answer to improve quality. I doubt Talley would ever sell-out. I know they'd lose at least one customer.

I guess my sarcasm wasn't obvious on this one. So far, the 'fire's version of consumer reports regarding recommended upgrades and extras for this rifle have been a complete strikeout. It's a good thing I went with the B&C stock, or the recommended McMillan probably would have had issues the way my luch is running. I contacted Talley and explained the situation and will see what they recommend.

It sure read like you meant it. The reason why folk are so quick to defend Talley is they have a solid rep for building quality stuff. But even at that- they are still human beings.

Shame you couldn't find a good action to build on. Well, that's the problem you have to deal with when buying used. The guy did throw in 3 boxes of Premier Remington Core-Lokts and two leather bound gun-cases along 4 Ingram knives. I'll be removing the scopes to replace them with Nikon Prostaff scopes to wring out their true accuracy potential. I did tell the guy who sold them to me that he should have built them on Remington 710 actions and he seemed to appreciate the advice.
