It's something like 90.00 for the elevation for either, but there's a discount on a 2nd windage M1 (aprox 1/2 price??) No discount on a windage CDS.

You can also go with the M1 dials and have them calibrated for a specific load, just like the CDS. This would prevent you from being stuck with one load in order for the dials to work and be able to use them with simple MOA adjustments.

It's not that difficult guys. M1 turrets are in 1/4 MOA clicks. Leupold can add the yardage adjustment to the M1 turrets calibrated for your specific load, just like the CDS. If you change loads, guns, bullets, etc, the standard M1 turret still work regardless, while the CDS is stuck with the load that you told Leupold was the one to use.

The CDS does come with a MOA cap and you can than send in for a custom cap.

I'm no turret twister by any means, but if you're not a regular twister on whatever rifle but want the convenience with little difference between the standard caps the CDS's are nice.

Oh, I understand how works, but that's not the way you typed it originally. Reading your initial response one would be lead to believe that by having a turret calibrated to a specific load would keep you from being stuck with one load.

Reading and writing comprehension is a wonderful thang...

How much do they charge just for a regular M1 elevation turret installed in a scope you currently own and send in to them?

They charge it if you live in Texas. Seems that texas has a law requiring it, and Texas gets the proceeds.
