A fellow member and maker on here, Larry Rosi, asked me if I would make a sheath for one of his knives. I did so, designed as he requested to fit a knife he sent me.

I did not take pictures of the knife with the sheath as I wasn't sure if he would want me to do so.

The sheath is 8/9oz veg tanned; pouch style w/ integral belt loop; hand stitched; nickel rivet; barbed wire tooling. The color is Fiebing's Pro Oil Light Brown that darkened significantly with the finishing process of using a mixture of beeswax/paraffin/neats foot oil. I will not dye the sheath as dark next time, before the waxing process to keep the color lighter.

Larry, if you're reading this, the sheath and knife will be mailed out tomorrow. I apologize for not getting it back to you sooner, I have been quite sick the last couple weeks or so.

I have got to figure out why my camera makes my photos grainy in some shots and clear in others.

It looks very nice. Well done. That tooling is especially nice.

Thank you all!!

I looked at that sheath and before I boxed it up, I decided that I didn't like the finish it had. There was just something about it that didn't look right.

So, I took a grey scotchbrite pad and worked over the finish giving it an antiqued look, especially on the molded areas of the knife handle. Then I went over it with a bit more beeswax and buffed with a cloth.

I really like how it looks now, the lighter browns that show through really compliment the handle of the knife it was made for.

Let me know what you think! smile

I think it looks pretty doggone good. I liked it before, but now, it's even more eye catching.
