Hello all,

I just recieved 2 new Gene Ingram knives. The top in a Hunter Model with Red Micarta and stainless mosaics and the bottom knife is a #7 in Black Micarta also with stainless mosaics. They are made in S30V. The quality is to Gene's stadards which is first class. Mr. Ingrams knives continue to surpass my expectations.

Those are nice. I like a clean simple knife. Any photos of the sheaths.

I especially love that Hunter Model, and I like it best with the two larger mosaic pins (like yours) as opposed to the smaller peripheral pins like the red micarta Hunter Model example on Gene's website. Those are both very nice. Congrats.

Before they arrived, I thought the #7 would be my new favorite but the Hunter feels great in my hand. Both are great knives.

Both are very nice. Both look like they will be great hunters.

For some reason, the Hunter doesn't get as much attention as many of his others do. The Hunter Model, along with the #11 Drop Point, are my two favorite hunting knives that Gene makes. That red linen micarta one on his website rung my bell, but I thought it'd look better with mosaics...and yours proves to me that it does.

The anticipation and wait are worth it. I discussed my needs and uses with Gene at length on several occasions and he keep discussing the Hunter Model. I decided to go with it for one of my knives and am certainly glad. It is a bigger knife with a "thicker" feel in the hand. You can definately tell you are holding a knife. I usually wear L or XL glaves and it really fits my hand well. I don't find my palm bumping into the lanyard. Just some initial thoughts.

i also have big paws and can't do puny handles. the #7 is my favorite general purpose pattern, but i also just got a Hunter a while back. i kinda like it, but haven't used it yet.

those are two good lookin' knives there. nice touch with the matching pins.

And when the time comes, its just like Christmas. You'll forget you ordered one, then one day you'll have an email from Gene saying you're coming up in the next week and confirming what you want.

You can bow out later if you decide you can not do it... and you don't have to pay ahead of time. I am not recommending that someone get on the list with no intentions of going through with it but its also not a big deal. Gave me a chance to try a few in the secondary market and narrow down somethings that I like. Mine are coming up soon and I am excited.

Cheers

Andrew
