Anybody know how to tighten up a loose forearm on a Winchester 250? It moves fore/aft an 1/8" or more.

I don't know if anyone here has the answer but I remember this being discussed over on RimfireCentral.com under the winchester section. If you don't get an answer here try them.

I have never owned one that the forearm didn't rattle. They came from the factory new like this

bea175, thanks for the intel... I picked one up used, never owned a 250 before, so I just figured it had gotten loose. Never dreamed they were loose to begin with. I still haven't figured out how to tighten it up, or remove it for that matter.
I couldn't find the post on the other forum 21 advised on either.
It bugs me being loose, I won't be satisfied until I get the slop out of it.

Ozarks, they are'nt supposed to come from the factory like that but maybe it happened a time or two. Winchesters quality control went in the toilet after '64. I could'nt find that info on rimfirecentral either but it was talked about. Go on over and sign up and ask your question there. Im sure someone will be able to help you with it. Nice people and very knowledgeable about Winnies. I have two 255's, the magnum version, and they are tight as drums.
