Yes. I'm watching it now (3:00 am EST). I think this is the 3rd time. Great series.

An interesting bit of trivia (content courtesy of Wikipedia)...

"Ashokan Farewell", used as the title theme of the 1990 PBS television miniseries, "The Civil War", is a piece of music composed by Jay Ungar in 1982...Viewers of "The Civil War" frequently and erroneously believe the melody is a traditional tune that was played at the time of the Civil War. In fact, it is the only modern composition on the Burns documentary's soundtrack; all other music is authentic 19th-century music.

Have never gotten around to watching The Civil War series, although I want too. Ken Burns' "Jazz" series was solid, even if I didn't agree with some parts of it.

One of the few things I enjoy watching on TV anymore is the "Nature" programs that PBS puts on. They did one on the Himalayas a few weeks ago that was positively outstanding.

The Ken Burns series about the civil is an excellent tv rendition. Shelby Foote, the grey bearded narrator occationally used in the Burns series has a producted a thick three volume set about the civil war that covers vertually every major battle fought in all theaters of the civil war.

I like most of Burns' films, but my favorite is "Lewis and Clark". If you haven't seen that one, it's just outstanding.
