Initially I was skeptical whether he was even going to run, and whether people would even take him seriously and whether he would be a viable candidate. But I listened to him today on Sean Hannity, and also saw a clip on the internet of an interview he did with Meridith Viera from the Today Show, and I have to say, I am impressed. He talks straight, and he doesn't let people corner him and walk over him. Plus you gotta wonder, he has enough money to buy a country, and I don't think he made that money 1)doing illegal things 2)being stupid. He doesn't seem to have the high negatives as some of the other candidates have. Except maybe his personal life, but, then again... Americans don't seem to care about personal lives or Bill Clinton would have been booted out of office, and Obama would have not gotten elected after admitting he smoked pot, cigarettes, and did cocaine in college.

I think that in previous election years, a guy like Donald Trump wouldn't have a chance, but because of the turmoil in our country - high gas prices, high unemployment for 3 years, 3 wars vs bush who only had 2 wars. I also think Trump has a good chance with independants.

Watch how he handles Meridith Viera, he wouldn't let her walk over him like she has done to others. But he also didn't get mad, he didn't get flustered, he remained in control of the interview, not the other way around. In other words, she wanted to make him look stupid and it failed. If he handles himself like this with every left wing media and opponents up until the election I think he can do very well.
