Early 721s (not the transition model) are the best buy and have the correct barrel length (26"), 700 Classics are also nice but only 24". Pre 64 M 70s have a stock that hurts (as do low comb 721s, there were 2 models) The SAKO sounds neat but will not come cheap. SAKO also made factory guns in 300 H&H (before the 308 Norma and 300 Winmag came out) They are marked "300 Magnum" (there was only one then) and that confuses many and makes for a bargain buy if you know. Browning Safaris were made in 300 H&H and are a wonderful rifle (FN Mauser) as long as you are sure it's not a salt wood gun. Great cartridge, easy to reload, always feeds and is very accurate. You can also build one pretty cheap if you can find one of the Savages made in 375 H&H. A few tools, a new barrel and you'll have a 15 minute swap barrel magnum for under a grand.

Thanks to you nice folks that replied to my wants for the 300 H&H. It is for sure that many of you know far more than I about them and I appreciate the information offered about what to get and why. I purchased some of the items sent to me and look forward to getting them along with visiting with all of you again another day. Thanks for helping me out. Better tomorrows to you all!
