Gay Beard is the biggest chit dump on the 'net.
I replace valve cover gaskets every 50K, if they don't need them sooner...

Sorry didn't realize you and Swampy were now buds: Your previous post: "Careful guys...turdcutter is gonna want to fight you all...... He's got something to prove......." (As there is no member ID "turdcutter" I made the error thinking you were talking about Mr. GreenBox.)

He gets bashed here, praised there.

I could send the scope in for a cleaning, fresh nitrogen fill, and have a duplex reticle installed. Good idea, that is one beautiful rifle, I'd leave it the way it is other than that though.

It's Joe Leupold, a big EU porno star. His Johnson is 4 CM wide and 12 CM long. (EU girls are used to doing without much ..... the Socialistic tradition ..... everyone gets the same.)

That stamped in checkering and sprayed on epoxy stock finish are the real highpoint of Remington "quality"!
Classic example of old world craftsmanship He probably gave 500 for it as well. Whats the saying about "one born every minute"?

This is a "beautiful (production) rifle, that one is a 58 Edsel. FYI that El Paso K 4 never had any nitrogen in it. You can take them apart with "simple hand tools"

Pretty sure he is talking about a 4-12 Vx II, 4-12 VX I, or 4-12 Rifleman. Leupold makes a coupld of them. I used to have a 4-12x40 AO on a bolt 223. 4-12x40 AO Leupold

I don't know why everybody has to put down what everybody else has. I'm not exactly a huge Remington fan, but I can appreciate a nice rifle for what it is without breaking out the proverbial tape measure.

Right you are, I forgot I needed a 1/2 MOA rifle to shoot a deer at 200 yards. Maybe Swampy will lend me his beautiful Edsel er.... 700.

Swampy, Not bad. Brings back memories of my 1966 ADL in .270. Looked exactly the same (obviously) sans the Weaver. Loaned it to a buddy and it came back with a BIG crack in the stock and all scratched up. Tried to repair stock but cracked again. Anyway, got the itch for something different so it got rebarreled to 6.5-284 (you know for the extra performance!) Can't say as I miss the ole .270 as the 'new' 6.5 really rocks. Enjoy your rifle.

You can take them apart with "simple hand tools" Badger or Bear?, (can't remember which the tu95 was, if either of those) Without bashing anyone else's taste, in my subjective opinion (yeah, redundant) those walnut featherweights are still one of, if not the, most beautiful rifles ever made. I'd rather have a 2 MOA rifle that looked like that than a, supposed, 1/2 MOA fiberglass monstrosity! To each their own.

I have owned more of those old 700 ADL turds then I care to think about. The impressed checkering and RKW bowling pin finish didn't impress me as a teenager and doesn't now. They did however shoot.

I will be civil to Swampy if he is not trolling other than that all bets are off....as to turdcutter I was referring to Logcutter...just gave him a new name. You on the other hand go off spewing your mouth on here like you been here years but no, less than a month and you think you know everything. You aint got enough time on here to go calling others out.

Oddly I love the garish appearance of the older Remingtons. I grew up with them. I wish there was someone that could restore the plastic finish on them. I love the stamped checkering too.
