Looking into buying a pair for mid Oct. early Nov. hunts out west. I hunt in Idaho at 6000 to 9000 ft with temps ranging from 10 to 50 degrees by midday.

I have used them in similar environments with good results. I use not only thermals underneath, but when cold/wet enough, a waterproof exterior garment as well.
They are comfortable and more durable than they may appear. I'll only buy them at reduced prices, though. I never pay the retail price.

I'd second what Jeffpg posted. Fairly durable outer layer, just get 'em large enough to layer underneath for the conditions.

I've got 2 pair of these in the MM pattern and love them. I use them on mid August sheep hunts and early September moose hunts. Now that they no longer make the MM pattern I need to find something different, can't like the new patterns for Alaska hunting.
That's ok, I'll ass shoot a dink.
