Hi all, I found a Marlin model 39 serial #5188/1883? for sale and know nothing about it's value. It's a bit rough but looks to have case color on the receiver and no cracks in the woodwork. Any ideas? Thanks, Bob

Bob, it's hard to put a value on a rifle without pictures. But I would say if everything is original and case coloring was 50% and blueing was 70% with minimal marks on the wood surface considering age; a price somewhere around $800 to $1000. Pictures would help. Tim

Tim, I don't know how to take the pics off of the site it's on and post them here. The rifle shows it's age but caught my eye and I had no idea what it should be worth in any condition. Asking price right now is 1k. If it's still around this weekend I may go take a look see. Thanks Bob
