Bigfoot -- Imminent Capture Anticipated
BURLINGAME, CA -- 06/29/2005 -- "The elusive creature known as Bigfoot may not be elusive for very much longer," according to C. Thomas Biscardi, a Bigfoot explorer and founder of the Great American Bigfoot Research Organization.
In the next few days, Biscardi will begin an investigation into a cavernous area near Happy Camp, California, in which he expects to find evidence of Bigfoot inhabitation and hopefully be able to contain and capture a live creature.
This particular location has been chosen based on two very recent sightings from very credible witnesses... ...the rest of the article is here

I'll believe it if and when I see it...
OTOH, why not just leave the whole thing to myth and legend? Same with Nessie, the Bermuda Triangle, Jersey Devil, etc. IMHO, life is far richer and better with things out there we can't explain, that are outside of our control and knowledge, and make us ask "could it be...?"
Suppose for a second that Bigfoot is captured, then what? It hasn't hurt anyone; it hasn't done anything wrong, and it just wants to be left alone. You can't hunt it, eat it, trap it, and you don't need to protect yourself from it. Leave it alone, IMHO.
Also, contact with humans sure as hell ain't gonna do Bigfoot any good, that much I'll guarantee, and all for what? How are we, or it, any better off for catching/killing it/them than if we just leave it/them alone and leave the whole thing to the "what if..." column of life?

Don't know if there really are BF's or not. But I do know if they are real they don't seem to bother us, so why is this guy going outa his way to capture one? I'm not expecting to wring my hands and cry if he's never heard from again.

Why never a dead Big Foot body? If they live, they die, and if they are big, they create a big stink when they did. Why no body?
I lived in Sacramento and proweled the Sierra with my backpack. Spent 49 days total out there one year. Not one sign of Big Foot.

I posted a while back that I have recently seen a cast of an alleged Bigfoot print that was made by a guy that I know. He swears he saw it cross the road in front of him. This report came from an area bordering the North Carolina section of the Blue Ridge Parkway.
When he first started talking to me about this, he also inquired about me loading up some special heavy cast loads for his 44 Magnum. I told him that if he intentionally went gunning for this and somehow managed to knock one off and then drag it out of the woods with his four Wheeler, that we wouldn't be friends anymore.
I also recently posted that I've just seen a rerun to the 1972 movie Deliverance, you know, the one with the "squeal like a pig boy" line in it. Who knows when mating season might be for these things!
It won't be long until it's time to start scouting my deer stand locations. Hmm, what do you think boys... 300 grain, XTPs or 325 grain hard cast slugs? John

A friend of the family--an incredible outdoorsman--was hunting/scouting in that exact area in the late 50s and saw a bigfoot. He saw the creature pick up a 55 gallon drum in a logging camp. He was convinced that bigfoot was real.
Then a couple years ago, a man admitted on his death-bed to starting the hoax. He said he was having problems with kids messing with his logging camp, so he put on the suit and put on a show for their benefit. His goal was to keep the kids away. He was wearing the suit during the very time our friend was hunting/scouting.
I am convinced our friend saw this very man in his monkey suit. I no longer know where the friend is to see if his view is changed.
Having said all that doesn't mean there isn't a bigfoot, sasquatch, yeti, or abominable snowman out there somewhere. However, it does relegate one more supposed bigfoot sighting as being just another hoax.

Betcha that if "Bigfoot" turns-out to be real, there'll be a world of similarities to the story of Ishi. I hope so and I hope that his end comes later and happier than Ishi's. Ishi's story .

That was EXACTLY what I was thinking, regardless of whether "bigfoot" turned out to be man or beast.

Don't worry guys, my magic 8-ball told me that Elvis stopped by the PNW in his UFO and picked up Bigfoot so that they could fly to Loch Ness and go Monster fishing.

I talked to a guy who knows a guy who has a cousin who has seen Bigfoot. He says that when Bigfoot is captured, we'll learn that he is working for the big corporations, trying to take advantage of our thirst for foreign oil. He has been hidden, in recent times, by none other than Bill Gates (half the time), and by Halliburton (the other half time, on orders by Pres. Bush et al)...........

Growing up and living in the middle of Big Foot country, I know probably a dozen people that claim to have seen a big foot first hand. I can say that I am in the woods more than any of them, and I sure haven't seen anything. But the country is so big and steep and forested, you and I could hide for years without ever being found. Most of the old time loggers believe in the thing and either claim to have seen it or trust someone that has. I think that stinking-bugeling bulls and bears and even dark shadows in the timber make up most or all of the bigfoot sightings. The Red Butte Wilderness and the Kalimiopis Wilderness (both on the Oregon/Cal border) are two of the most rugged remote areas in the lower 48. If bigfoot was hiding out these would be the places. Cave Junction sits right between these two wilderness areas and the Cave National Monument backs up to the Red Butte Wilderness. That being said bigfoot will never be found. He's got by this long so he's a real bad azz and I don't want anything to do with him anyway.

Ever seen the Geico commercials with the cavemen?
VAnimrod, BirdDawg, Dave_in_WV, I agree with you, Bigfoot probably moved to town long ago.

CHUCK TREE - "Bigfoot probably moved to town long ago." ___________________________________________________
Chuck Tree nailed it! The last Bigfoot I saw had moved to Los Angeles and was running a lap dance joint on upper Sunset Blvd.
