Is there a trick or special tool needed to get the firing pin out of the bolt?

I am stumped on how to get this apart. Any help or suggestions will be appreciated. I have looked at the diagrams and they are no help or maybe I am just overlooking something very obvious to most people.

Dave

Before you go pulling it apart do you have a replacement? Otherwise I would just ship it to Ruger and in a couple weeks it will be all better.

Not only that, but it's possible Ruger won't send you a new one anyway.. Most of their parts are on their restricted list..

There was a firing pin related recall on the P-85s about the second year they were on the market . If your gun didn't get a new pin then , maybe you can get one now , if the recell was safety related . I'd give Ruger a call ! I don't know if they marked or how they marked the repaired guns , but they know !

Yep.. I forgot about that..

Oh, and they just might repair your handgun for free in either case. You just have to ship it to 'em.. They'll do the rest.

You might give Davidson's a call and see if the pistol was one sold through them. If it was it has a lifetime replacement warranty. I'm a dealer and have used their warranty a couple times. They will send your local dealer a replacement and then handle the exchange on the spot. You won't be without your pistol for a minute.
