Actually, I realize how lucky I was becaue nobody else was home. Right now it's kinda nasty the way it is. The middle of the chair broke out and my leg went it in, essentially I was stuck in the chair. It ripped the hell out of my leg. Beargrease is right, it could have cut a bit deeper and I would have been in real trouble.

true story Northern Dave.

Our sauna is not like most, we used some good old fashion yooper/finn ingenuity. My father got an old Jays Potato Chip Truck, we gutted out the back added a wall just behing the driver seat installed a door and small window in that wall. We then lined the back with cedar boards (2x6 rough cut) built a bench trew it in. Built a wood stove added that with a keg to hold water cut the top off ran some pipe from the keg looped into the wood stove to heat it up. Then cut a hole in the side of the truck to let the smoke out of the stove. Yeah I know sounds backwoods and unbelievable, when I get out there next I will take pics. When we get the time an actual permanent log sauna will be built.

HAHAHAHA Damn I didn't see that one coming, and thats the truth.

Yoopers don't use a keg for water. We did of course it was long past empty, the sauna is just backwoods and well it works haha.

I think this thread was misnamed. Should have been Birth of a BEER camp cause of the attention it has received

Yeah I dunno what it should be called, "heap of nonsense" maybe?

grin

264wm, is your posting handle also your cartridge of choice? I'm really partial to my own .264 which is a stainless/gray laminate M77. I really need to give some attention to that rifle by means of working up a load for it and treating it to some range time.

ouch! good to hear she's ok!

the name of this thread has been changed a couple times by jokesters. I won't say who but his handle bears the same digits as yours after his first name Tom......

as I recall he first changed the name to birth of a beer camp.

Gee whiz, if Stan is coming up, I might even make the 4 hour drive up to say hi! Although I am indifferent on sow-nas. I can take'em or leave'em.

T- doggone it, you are lucky that is all that you got out of your chair debacle! Good luck with the turkeys.

Quick Cole update: saw him at Easter and you would never know. All is well.

Lining up to pour concrete in the driveway in May. I might be more excited for concrete than I get for fishing opener. On second thought...I AM more excited for concrete!!

Ryan, I bet you can't wipe the smile off your face, eh? smile We need some habitat before, during, and after pics dude! We all wanna see you perched on a tractor all covered in dirt. grin Maybe with a bird or two in the background....?

Good luck Tom. Just got off the phone with one of my hunting buddies. He only saw 2 birds in 4 days.

Ryan, can you use rifles in SD for Turkeys?

Stan, if you come up I'd make the 10 hour drive.

Thanks so much for the update on Cole.

A bit of good news in this day and age is such a great thing.

Concrete driveway??

I'm seriously jealous, very much.

yes you can use rifles, I asked someone that very same question this morning actually smile

I saw 30 birds (turkeys) this morning and 10 mule deer on my way to work. saw about 20 deer yesterday and a bunch of ducks geese turkeys while at work. its raining today so I'm working at home on paper work for my CDL til the rain clears and I can get back in the field.
