I am thinking about getting a stainless bolt fluted for a future build. Eventually, I will have the bolt and the rest of the gun Cerakoted or similar in a dark color. When I get the bolt fluted, do I need to give the smith any specific information about the future build? I do not know what color I want it yet and the rest of the build will be built by a differnt smith. I am wondering if it matters if the bolt is polished or not or does it need to be left raw? What do you advise? I am probably overthinking this but just checking.

It will not change anything and yes, you are over thinking it. Flute away!

I have seen a couple...kind of cool, but I cannot recall who did them.

In these tough times, it's important that we all pitch in and do what we can to stimulate the economy. grin This week, I stimulated Berger/J4, Midway, Lilja, Redding and Hi-Tech Ammunition (powder).

Got reverse-stimulated by Stan Ware though, as he beat me to pickin' up the tab for dinner Tuesday night.

Sufferin' in the Forbidden Zone. wink -Al

As shown right at 6lbs. Could probably cut a bit more weight from the barrel if I REALLY wanted....but thinkin I'm about perfect for weight.

Will be getting a VXIII 2.5-8x36 w/ M1 Turret up top. Add a sling and some scope caps and I'll be set.

Comin from a guy with one of the nicest, I'll take that as a very nice compliment!

The scope will finish it nicely....as well as a possible black cerakote at one point....
