I have a 243 take-off barrell I want to ream and put on a Reming 700.
Does anyone know if a 6mm-06 Imp. reamer will clean up the 243 chamer and work for the conversion?

You'll have to set the barrel back at least a 1/8" turn, then 6mm-06 Imp reamer will clean it up.

Let us know how it shoots when your done.

The answer is yes. The .243 Winchester is a necked down .308 Winchester, which is a shortened 30/06.

If you are doing the 6mm-06 Improved, you will not need to set the barrel back as the improved case is larger at the shoulder/neck junction than the 243 Win.
