I got a new HTC desire 'droid. It came with numerous apps already installed.
I added,

Rainy days - a map of the US that shows where it's raining.

Opera mini for better web browsing.

Pandora - internet radio.

Slacker - internet radio.

Cool stuff. Looking for some other ideas. What are y'all running?

There is a backwoods gps app, the thing is fantastic. I went fishing a trout stream wading the length of it, and I knew it had to be easier to hit a road and walk back, instead of backtracking the stream. I knew the app was in the app store but never used it, downloaded it in the woods and it worked like a charm. And it's satelite based, so once you download it you do not need cell service.

That's pretty cool. Looks like a $10 app.

I just put ballistic fte and bulletflight on my new iPhone. I haven't had a chance to use them in the field yet, but ballistic fte looks like its going to be an awesome tool.

I went to high school with Aaron Rodgers! Just sharing because green bay came up.

A cell phone doesn't even receive a signal here at the house. All these apps and phones look pretty cool, but I really have no use for one.

Angry Birds

Strelok is a ballistic application that works with the Android operating system.

MyCast = the best weather app I found.
Gtasks = syncs my google tasks to my phone, also has a widget...
NIV Bible
AudioManager = coolest app. It allows you to create different sound profiles, so you can hit a button, and "poof", all the sounds are at a certain level. Makes it easy to adjust different levels of sound much easier than going to settings.
Evernote = you set up an account online, and then download the app. It automatically syncs notes, pics, soundbites, etc. I have it set up as a widget on my phone, so if I need to type a quick note, take a quick picture, etc, I can upload it and it automatically syncs to my Evernote account.

Then I use the typicals with my Droid X, like google maps, alarm clock, calendar, contacts....

I was shocked at how good it worked. I don't actually own a gps, but this thing worked like a charm. Just buy a waterproof case for it if you do anything around water. My brother rolled his kayak and soaked his phone so now he has to pay a 90 dollar deductible for a new one.

I like Accuweather, Nook for iPhone, clinometer, shazam, carpenter, Drudge Report, Tides, Google Earth...........

I just got the Droid X and it is incredible what it does.

I did downloaded Juice Defender, helps on battery life.

How I got by without a cellphone (cell only) for all the years when everyone else had em, I'll never know.

Now I'm saying the same about my smartphone. Pocket internet with access to relevant business sites, anywhere and everywhere. Camera, video recorder, etc etc...It's awesome.

I held off for a few years....I'm ruint now!
