A buddy of mine is retiring today. He has seen the couple of decent shooting ARs I've built and he wants to use my tools and shop and we are going to build him a SPR/SDM type build for a retirement present to himself.
I've heard nothing but good stuff about WOA bbls. There are two options being considered fir the build.
18" SDM 1in7" Fluted Under guards wylde chamber....$370
18" SPR 1 in "7 no flutes, guessing 223 chamber as it doesn't specify.......$265

Aside from the Wylde vs 223 Rem chamber. Which I'm sure John at WOA would use on any barrel you like. Is the fluting the only difference in thee barrels if both were wylde??
I think WOA uses Wilson blanks. Does anyone else use Wilson and use wylde reamers?? Dong wanna go too over the top.
Gonna use an m4 ramped upper, a matched lower to it and a RRNM trigger. All other components and furniture have been chosen except for lpk. Colt is my first choice, as I get a good discount from them. Second is a RR w NM trigger. Never had a failure yet and I used em in my builds. But this gun is gonna get run a bunch.
Any recommendations on LPKs and BCGs would be appreciated.
No sights just a long range (500 yard)gun. Thanks for any help.

I may be wrong but I think the SDM is about the same weight as the SPR even with the flutes, just different profiles. A call to them would determine my choice.

RR uses Wilson blanks and Wylde chambers, don't hear too many bad accuracy stories these days...

I like RR LPK's cause I like their 2 stage triggers that I modify. I would of course choose Colt if they weren't so much higher, you get a good discount, go for it.

BCG's I'd use Colt, I used to use LMT until the MIM gas key deal. Colt is my favorite. Bravo Company MFG. would be worth a look as well.
