I hope Oregon has stiff penalties for poachers. These guys deserve everything they get.

They don't if you look at that story. The more important charges are racketeering and identity theft.

I sometimes hunt the unit these azz clowns were poaching in, like a lot of the units in our state the deer in that area are struggling for various reasons.

I never really wanted to believe that poaching was as big a problem as it is, makes you sad to think about the waste.

You gotta admit there's some irony in a statement like that coming from someone named dinkshooter smile

While that is debatable... Those aren't mulies, they're blacktails.

I wish Oregon and every other State for that matter had heavier penalties for poaching!
Glad the bastards were caught.

Sounds like it was more than just poaching, but hopefully the penalties for the wildlife crimes alone will get their attention.

Those are not mule deer they are Black tails. We are having recruitment issues due to HLS and then to have this on top of it.
The black tail numbers are declining the NW and then to find this wow! Scum bags at least Oregon put into place trophy fines this year.

I hear ya, BSA. The least they have done is steal opportunities away from hunters who purchased a tag and license, like you and me.

We all need to watch for signs of poaching. Even filling the tag for the wife, or anyone else, is poaching. Play by the rules or don't play at all.

Sometimes poachers really pi$$ off a judge and they can get consecutive sentences for some of that. I remember a poacher in Bend who got 30 days in jail for killing one goose out of season.

That's more time than some burglars get.

Some 35 years ago when I lived in NW Montana, the local Game Warden told me that if the poaching in that area wasn't so high, they could double the number of Moose permits in those units (100 & 101).
