Wow! <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/shocked.gif" alt="" /> Thought I would get more response. Looks like I'll give the TNT and V-Max a try. Thanks for the response T Lee

What are you going to shoot with your 22 Mag? From woodchucks up to deer, I'd go with the 40 grain PMC soft points. If woodchucks or smaller, I'd go with the 33 grain Remington Vmax. Many rimfires will work well with some brands of ammo, but not so well with others, so I would generally look for the brand and bullet weight that works best in a particular rifle.

Jeff, Looking to pop a few wild pigs in the head. Range is short less than 40 yards to the feeder. The shooting to be accomplished with customized youth rifle by my 5 year old nephew. He has been putting in the time at the range and ready to go. We will work with a couple of loads and see which shoot the best. Thanks

In the case of hogs, I think that you might want something with a FMJ, rather than a soft point.

Yessir, for hogs I would try the Winchester 40 grain solids in the silver box, initialy I imediatly thought squirrel, whistle pig and prairie puppies. That is all I use mine for, it takes a well placed 22/22mag to knock down a hog beyond contact range.

Thanks T-Lee & Jeff, Will go with the FMJ. As a rule we only try to take pit pigs 60#s or less especially this time of the year.

Federal 50gr fmj will do the trick. We use them all the time around here. But as TLee pointed out the CCI TNT packs a helluva wallop also.
