What would a fair price be on a 85% Rugerr 77 round top with iron sights in 7x57? Thanks

$300.00 on gunbroker... <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" /> Did you buy it? That was a steal of a price for a decent roundtop...

I've grown to really like the tang-safety Rugers... They're so natural and quick to snap into action and of course ambidextrous for those who are lefties.

I'd like to have a round-top in 7x57, sounds like a wonderful sporter.

I have round top in .270 Win. I have put a set of pivot mounts on it so I can go to either the iron sights or scope in a nanosecond. Works great and I have the set up on 3 other guns.
fyi I do have a box of the pivot mounts available, but I do not have any bases. I also have a 7x57 Ruger barrel (slightly used) that came from a rebarrel job---- that is lonely.

I too love the old Rugers and their tang safety. BUT, I couldn't seem to ever handle it in the woods without bumping the safety. It should have been recessed into the tang, like Browning did with the Abolt or Savage did with the 10/110. That thing sticking up was just in the way, and it even brushed against my coat one time as I was hiking and that was it for me, I went to the newer Rugers. What a shame too, I had an old 30/06 Ruger that was a super shooter.
I know it's probably just me, but I didn't like how easy it was to hit the safety on them, but I do agree that's the right place for one to be, just not so prominently placed.
