Wow! It appears to be a model 99 of sorts. Comes with it's own fire starter kit. Whats the serial number?

I sincerely hope it isn't a cherished heirloom because I gotta say that is without a doubt the ugliest rifle, 99 or not, that I have ever seen. Who made the stock?

Seen worse, actually. As said, you have a 99. The stock did NOT come from Savage. What's the serial # and barrel length?

Well, you have room in the gun to put an aftermarket stock on it and still have a fairly priced shooter, if you do the work yourself.

Looks like an unsupervised blind 10th-grader made it in shop class!

Aaaah Mista' you gonna need some wood! The rest of the rifle (that I can see) looks nice. At $180 you have some wiggle room to fix'er up.

Find a 50's .300 EG (corrrected) that is drilled full of holes and swap the stock. Sell the .300 for parts.

there is a 300 here in town i can pick up for about 300 (i'll get the #'s an info)
it's an org owner gun -- just not sure if i want to tear it up
i know the 308 is a more desireable shell, and it is what i plan on sticking with--org i was looking for a 308 brl to change this over to 308------- but that started to look like an ugly process

i'll keep going......steven

Ooops... blush Not enough coffee I guess. I was thinking 500,000 or 600,000 serial and typed something else. Can't play the piano either.

Looks like you could kill a deer with it without any changes. Wouldn't have to worry about any scratches wink
