I was looking at summit racing and they make fuel additives to smell like fruit. Just wondering if anyone has try them and is it OK to use in my mercury outboard?

Now why would you want to ruin the perfectly fine smell of two-stroke outboard exhaust? Heck, it's almost becoming a distant memory at this time. (No surprise. Gas is presently $8.06 plus local tax right now; even the Honda seems expensive at that price.) I wonder if they make a additive that will make my Honda smell like a two stroke? grin

I love the smell of old school, carbureted, 2-stroke exhaust. It especially reminds me of my years as a youngster on the boat with dad. Can't get that with the new four-strokes. Why the hell would I mess that up with apple scent or a cherry blossom and vanilll aroma?

Besides, adding a pleasant scent to any exhaust gas doesn't make carbon monoxide any less poisonous...

'Been using full synthetic oil mix ...cuts most of the smoke, costs a little more, but worth it, in my 97 90HP Yammhauler.

Exactly. Part of the problem is that your outboard motors are far too new.
There's nothing better than the smell of two-stroke on a cool Canadian morning....
