I just purchased these and will have to say I am greatly impressed. My 8X42's are 27 oz and are nice, but these compact bino's are around 17 oz and are clear/crisp. Very impressed so far.

They are great binoculars. I use mine all the time for deer and turkey hunting.

Best bush rig I own...pretty good for longer stuff too. I love the depth of field!

Agree with everything said above, the 6x32 Viper is way more useful than you would think if you hadn't ever looked through one.

I find myself reaching for mine as much, if not more, than my 8x42s.

They are indeed a great little package.

Do any of you wear eyeglasses? I was wondering how forgiving the Viper 6x is to use with eyeglasses.

A buddy loaned me his Viper 6X32 for a couple weeks for testing, and I have to agree, they are spectacular little binos. I found 6X to be way more useful than I thought. It has a very relaxed, eye-friendly view, along with great optics!

The Vipers have excellent eye relief and work extremely well with eye glasses.

My 6X32 Viper has two intermediate click stops on the eyecups between fully up and fully down. It works well for me both with eye glasses and without.

Probably my most used binoculars.

Thank you so much. That's a great endorsement. It seems everyone who spends any time with these binoculars loves them. I noticed there is also an "HD" version for approximately $230 more. Do you all have the regular Viper or the Viper HD?

Yup..I bought both the 8x43 and 6x32 Vipers on closeout..they are both great but the little 6's are special.

The one I tested was the regular "non HD" Viper. I've not seen the new HD models.

This review was what put me over the edge.

Also I had bought my daughter the 6x30 Yosemites. I found that 6X had some real advantages. The Vipers beat the fine Yosemites in every way but cost but on close out they aren't too dear.

Someone said relaxed view...that is what 6x has along with an amazing depth of field. For actually spotting something out of place or seeing movement or finding something the field of view, depth of field and relaxed view of a 6X is really something to behold.

If you use binoculars to sort out something you have already seen then more power is better but to actually find something 6X is where it is at!

All I can say is that my 6x32 Vipers continue to amaze me every time I use them.

Do any of you notice any "tunnel vision" effect with these? I had read 1 post somewhere else where that was mentioned, but that is the only time. Koshkin never mentioned it in his review, so I don't know if it was an isolated case or not. Based on all of the glowing reports, I'm thinking I might pick up a pair of these to replace an old Pentax 8x42 DCF WP that I keep in my truck.

I don't notice it and in an email to Koshkin he said that they would be prying this bino from his cold dead hands.

Trying to chit and get off the pot choosing between the std and the HD. Anyone tell if the HD is demonstrably improved vs. $200 cash donation to vortex and shoulda gone std?

I went from minox's 6.5x32 IF which I really liked. Talked to Koshkin and decided to try the vortex. Glad I did. They are alot better. Non HD version.

Clearer, Sharper, brighter, better ergos for me. I really liked the minox. I gave 3 pair away to people that really liked them and used a pair for 3 years myself, was very pleased. Just kept hearing about the vortex and finally ordered a pair from Doug. After useing them for a little while I sold my last pair of minox's. No regrets.
