I have about a dozen .38 Specials that made it through the Dillon without primers. They contain 3.5gr of Unique.

What should I do with them?

Pull the bullets, dump the powder, and start over. BTW, when using my Dillon 550, I have found that visually checking the primer slide every time eliminates these types of headaches, even though it does slow things down a bit.

You'll have to use a bic lighter to set em' off.

Well ,I would just put the primers in with a hand tool. When you shoot them just make sure the bullet clears the barrel.

I wonder what could happen if the primer goes off whilst in that hand tool. I just wonder, 'cause thinking isn't the right word for it...

I wouldn't chance firing one with a light powder charge. Some powder may have spilled.

That's bad ju-ju.

Pull the bullets and start over.

I think your chances of that happening are zip.

Just weigh a completed round that you know is good. Then weigh the bad ones to make sure they're the same. If it's light, then pull the bullet.

If one should fire during priming, which I've never had happen in many 1000's of hand primed cases, just make sure it's pointed in a safe direction. Outside a barrel, it won't do much.

Stare down onto each one and jerk the priming handle real hard and fast.

I typed one and a million, and there's that "thinking" word again.

I watched I guy pull chunks of brass out of his powder burned thumb once [bleep] with charged cases and primers; but he was a really unlucky SOB. NBD, but he wouldn't do it again.

I don't really give a [bleep], but usually the tools doing schit like that are the first ones to sue someone because they [bleep] around with odds and get bitten, right after they "thought" nothing would ever happen.

make sure the primer pockets are clean of powder and seat them with a hand tool using common sense. It has worked for me in the past.

Once when I was young and dumb I took the powder and sot out of a 12 gauge shell. Then I put the empty shell in a vise and drove a nail into the primer "just to see what would happen". Damn near blew my thumb off. I had to hide the wound until it cleared up. If my Old Man had found out about it it would have meant The Strap.

I am no longer young.

I just talked to my friend Boollitt Bob who has loaded tens of thousands of rounds. He said, "Just stick 'em back in the Dillon and run then through the priming station again, I do it all the time. Never had a problem".
