looked at your keyring to see what was actually there?

i went through mine the other day, and found no less than 12 keys for things i dont even use, or have anymore. several master lock keys, and a set of keys to the old camper shell i had on my old Toyota... keys to doors at work that arent even there any more...

you know.... the basic crap.

anyone else out there that had the high school janitor thing going on with their keys?

Hmmm...I just went and checked.

One key that I know what it is, but don't have a use for.
Two keys that I have no clue about! Thanks Marty for messing up a perfectly good Mother's Day. I'm not going to sleep tonight, but instead, will be fixated on these two mystery keys.

Yep, I hate extra bulge in my pocket, but that could be because I wear suits everyday. Might be less of an issue if my work gear consisted of Carharts or Jeans.

As a former locksmith I tend to keep my ring small with only what I really need. Knowing how to master key helps a lot.

I go through mine everytime that it gets out of hand. I usually put the "I don't knows" on a ring and throw them in a drawer just in case.

I have 4 separate key rings that i use a small D-clip to hook together. they are work keys/ home, barn keys/ truck key/ and misc...

Every time I take a key off the key-ring to make extra room in pocket, i find i need the key, and it's 20+ miles away...

Different key rings for the truck and the Jeep. They both have a house key, so both have three keys on the ring. The truck ring also has a bottle opener, for that root beer that doesn't have twist tops.

If you ditch 'em, keep them nearby, 'cause I promise you'll find out what some of them are for, 'soon as you do.

I have 4 or so entire rings, of 3-10 keys in my top drawer One has the keys for my truck I had in high school, but haven't seen in 25 years. I have no idea what the others are anymore. I think i recognize a dorm key. There are a number of keys with "DO NOT DUPLICATE" stamps from one thing or another... a PO Box key from somewhere... but for some reason, I just can't bring myself to toss 'em.

Yep....I have the same thing going on with multiple key rings. I'm in the construction biz and there is never a shortage of things that need to be locked. If I don't purge at least once a year, it gets out of hand. The same thing happens to my wallet.
