Hello all!

I'm looking for help on new stocks for my 1895 Guide Gun.

I want either a skinnier forend(?) stock, or decent synthetics(is there such a thing??).

My GG stocks are beat up, and I find the factory forend a touch thick.

Thanks for your time,

Matt

I have a thinned forearm on my 1895g. You can buy a nice set from Brockmans or have a go at thinning one yourself. After owning a thinned one I can't go back to the factory thick forearm.

MPI Stocks and Wild West Guns are the only two I know of that have synthetic stocks for an 1895.

Thanks Big8 for starting this thread. I just picked up a 1895GBL and want to thin down the forearm. Does anyone know how that laminated wood works compared to solid wood? I may tackle it myself, but am a bit nervous about it.
I'm also thinking of thinning down the pistol grip also, just deep enough to eliminate the checkering. Then oil finish it with no checkering. I really like the plain stocks on the earlier 1895's. I'm open to opinions on this. Thanks
