Beautiful rifle! Do you know when it was made? It's getting harder to find Al Biesen's work nowadays.

Any bolt converted to left handed, especially if it is chambered for something interesting.

A 1941 Model 70 converted to left handed and rebored to 35 Whelen.

I evaluate a hunter by his accomplishments and his ethics.
I call a rifle "cool" if it appeals to my sense of classic beauty.
Fine old classics like well cared for pre 64 Winchesters, the 98 Mauser sporters, and the Savage 99's. All of them have nice wood and are well put together and finished.
BTW, I seldom hunt with any of these "really cool" guns. My dead serious hunting rifles are built to be utterly reliable and tough. E

Great thread, and great pictures to go with it.

I've turned into a Savage 99 fan over the last 6 or 7 years.

Explain how your "Dead serious" rifles are more reliable than my old M70's.

I always considered the 99 Savage what with its hard hitting hammer to have positive ignition for cold weather. Just a theory of mine but I like that 99 in the winter.

Often seen utilized by tyros and people using a Single Shot, in the latter case it is in lieu of a hat or T-shirt that says" I'm not comfortable with a Single Shot"....
