+1,000 I bought a to takeoff on the 'fire last spring and put a .270 win barreled action in it. I only carried a different rifle 1 time out of countless trips last year. Im so impressed with those stocks im looking for another....

I like both...but I'll go with the Bansner if $ isn't a limiting factor and I'm not in an immediate need.

Used TI is a lot for the $. Ready to go (or lacking only bedding), lower cost, 27-28oz's. Solid stock, a little thicker in the wrist than "perfect" but it ain't bad.

Bansner is more expensive (~$75) and needs the work...but I enjoy the work, finishing, bedding, recoil pad, and paint. With a flip-flop recoil pad it will be 5-6oz's lighter than the TI and I like the fit/style of it a little better.

Again, the $ and time would be the deciding factor for me...

You guys would rather own a Ti (B&C carbelite, with pillars), over a handlaid Bansner? That is crazy talk.

Neither the original Ti nor the New Ti, as the OP asked about, are B&C carbelites or even made the same as the carbelite.

They most certainly are. They are a Carbelite with pillars. A step up is the Medalist, but it weighs more. Even the Medalist is made with the same materials as the Carbelite, they just slap an aluminum block in the middle.

How many carbelite, old Ti, new Ti and medalists have you owned?

Bansner everytime. Lighter especially in the sheep hunter profiles and higher quality throughout. Much nicer profile and dimensions to my eye. The TI is rather bulky in comparison. TI's are good value but not in the same class as Marks stocks!

I've owned/ handled a ton of b&c stocks from carbelites to medalists and duramaxx savage models. In my opinion the ti and carbelite aren't even comparable. The ti and medalist are a helluva lot of stock for the cash IMHO.

You guys are high. B&C makes all their stocks the same, from the same materials:

"Bell and Carlson stocks are constructed using a "hand lay-up" process, using a variety of "composite" materials. These composites, including fiberglass, aramid fibers, graphite, epoxy gel coats and laminating resins; and polyurethane reinforcement with milled fiberglass, provide a warm and solid feel rather than the hollow, toy like impression one gets from injection molded stocks."

The only difference is the shape of the stock, and whether it comes with the aluminum block (Medalist), pillars (Ti and Duramaxx), or Carbelite (no pillars or block).

Otherwise, they use the exact same chopped fiberglass/aramid construction. That is what is funny, people will label the Carbelite as junk, but embrace the Ti. If you don't like the shape, fine...but they are the same construction other than the pillars.

I have owned Ti's, Medalists, McMillan, and HS.

The Bansner will be lighter, running 22-23 ounces with pad, paint and studs.

The Ti will be a tad heavier, I forget off the top of my head but IIRC in the 27-28 ounce region. Pretty sure it wouldn't run over 30.

The Banser has a thinner pistol grip and is thinner in the forend, but you feel the difference mostly in the grip. The pistol grip on both models is open but due to the extra thickness of the Ti it will feel not quite as long. Both grips are rounded in profile.

I doubt a .223 AI is going to stress either stock, but maybe if you or a friend is prone to running over stocks in trucks then one may prove superior to the other. wink

Both will work, it really comes down to feel, i.e. you have to feel them both to decide.

I have one of each. While I like both the Bansner has a slimmer profile and is lighter. Best thing about the Ti is that you bolt it on and go.

I'm leaning Bansner just cause I'm not a huge B&C fan but for the right price I could be grin
