I ordered a pair from REI online and had to send them back. I wanted my foot to like them, but they didnt. They seem to be a very well made boot.

Those are bad news.
My big toes is still numb from 3 days with those boots in Utah last year. Doc said the feeling will probably never come back.
In addition, those POS sucked water like a sponge. A friend of mine had his leak the 1st day.

Way way too flexible for the Gore-Tex to work. It will just tear apart.

On the plus side, the lacing system is the best I have ever used. You can tailor the fit from the toe box back to the heel by switching the eyelets you put the laces thru.

Had a pair a few years ago
OK for street hikes. Not good for back packing in steep mountains
or hiking in wet weather. Lowa makes better boots than these

While not a bad boot, I find myself comparing them to my sheep hunters which is an obvious apples to oranges comparison.

Unlike WapitiBob, I haven't had any issues with water or leaking. Overall for a series of day hikes in moderate terrain and for times I'm looking for a light weight boot, I'm generally pleased with the boots.

Mine have been great so far but they have a place, they're light hikers not full size mountain boots.
