http://www.onepeoplesproject.com/ "HERE WE GO AGAIN!" 'UNITED PATRIOTS OF AMERICA' GET THE ANTIFA TREATMENT FOR THE SECOND TIME Wednesday, 06 July 2005
This story is floating around the internet right now, but no one knows who sent it. We were able to confirm the details however, so we decided to post it here. Apparently, the Minuteman Project-allied 'United Patriots of America' (UPA) can't seem to catch a break, but when you are organizing against immigrants in New Jersey, which to be real, is pretty much what it is because of immigrants, that's just dumb. First they tried to have a meeting in Freehold, NJ where there is a huge Hispanic immigrant population. They were chased out of the VFW hall that they rented, then out of the diner in Hightstown where they ended up. Next, they had a meeting on June 25 in Bridgewater, which was a public recruiting effort for UPA and the Minutemen, and featured a hatemonger named John Clark as the meeting's keynote speaker. The Progressive Labor Party took the wind out of UPA's sails here when they infiltrated the meeting, and disrupted it. We guess the UPA felt that they needed to keep their next meeting on the DL because they didn't announce where they were going to be. Unfortunately for them, someone found out and it turned out to be the Ramada Inn on Rt. 18 - in New Brunswick. That's right. Our old stomping grounds, and home to a very thick progressive activist community. Oops. Read more...
MINUTEMAN CO-FOUNDER JOINS HATE GROUP
Add another log on the hate fires that the Minuteman Project built. They have repeated the refrain over and over again that they have no tolerance for hate groups or their members joining them. Sean Hannity has been their television personality cheerleader parroting the declaration. Well, that hasn't been the case, as hatemonger after hatemonger have been using the Minuteman Project as a springboard for their little race war. One would think that if a group are so adamant about racists in their midsts, they would do something to stifle this activity. Well that didn't happen, nor did it look like it's going to. Minuteman co-founder, Jim Gilchrist, on the left in the picture above with the other founder Chris Simcox and cheerleader Hannity, joined the California Coalition for Immigration Reform. That's a group that's close to, among other groups, the Council of Conservative Citizens, and it is noted by the Southern Poverty Law Center as a hate group. It is getting tiresome finding example after example of the race-based vigilantism that the Minuteman Project keeps trying to deny they are engaged in, but now it is even harder to do so. That is just fine for the scores of groups looking to seal the fate of these lowlifes. UPDATE 7/4/05: We found a bit of information about Gilchrist at this website that supports the Minutemen. According to this site, Gilchrist has been "active with CCIR for many years."It is only now that it is being reported that he is an actual member.Hey, Hannity, looks like you are buddying up to yet ANOTHER white supremacist!

For the second time in 10 days, the United Patriots of America (UPA), a Minuteman-allied anti-immigration hate group, had its New Jersey organizing and fundraising drive disrupted by local anti-fascist activists.
Unlike last time when UPA held a very public meeting at the Bridgewater Sports Arena, this time Ron Bass, leader of the Linden, NJ-based United Patriots of America, and four fellow fascists attempted to hide themselves away in the Starlite Steakhouse & Lounge at the Ramada Inn on Route 18 in East Brunswick. It seemed as if UPA was attempting to recover from their Bridgewater debacle by having a small, semi-public
meeting to try and figure out what went wrong on June 25th, as well as how to prevent such disruption in the future while still organizing publicly, when a group of anti-fascist activists entered the restaurant.
According to eyewitness accounts, approximately ten to fifteen protestors entered the steakhouse and proceeded directly to the table where UPA was seated. At this point, according to the same eyewitnesses, the anti-fascists completely disrupted the dinner meeting, first by confiscating UPA's notes from the evening and
then by throwing things around the table. One of the UPA members was heard muttering "Here we go again!" when the antifas arrived at their table.
Reportedly, the demonstrators informed UPA that their meeting was now over and that they had no choice but to leave the restaurant. UPA was also informed that fascists would never be allowed to organize in New Jersey and that they would be opposed at every meeting, every step of the way and in every way possible. Allegedly one of the anti-fascists told Ron Bass and the other UPA members "things will only get
worse for you from here."
Shouts of "We know where you live" echoed through the dining room, seemingly referring to the practice of holding home demonstrations at people's homes. Chants of "Fascists Out" were also heard emanating from the restaurant, as well as several hilarious attempts by the UPA to debate with the anti-fascists disrupting the meeting. This, of course, was all to no avail as the demonstrators shouted them down and continued to demand that they leave the restaurant. The anti-fascists plainly stated that people like the UPA and Minuteman - people who are actively organizing to murder people because of their skin color and place of birth - are engaging in a criminal act and thus their free speech rights no longer apply.
After several minutes, the East Brunswick Police Department arrived and detained several of the anti-fascist protestors. No arrests were made at this point, but according to the local police department, identification was taken from approximately 5 people. They will be receiving a registered letter in the mail banning them from the Ramada Inn's property, and also a summons for either harassment or a disorderly persons offense for the actions taken against the UPA meeting. Unfortunately, a person not affiliated with the action was detained at a later point and arrested on an outstanding warrant. It has been confirmed that he was bailed out late that night.
