Just wondering if anyone has any data on using Hodgdon's new Leverevolution powder in the (old)? .300 Savage?
The can I've got says a 160 grain FTX w/41.5 grains can make 2650 fps out of a .308 Marlin Express.
I'd think something pretty close could be pulled from a Savage 99 in .300 Savage if the rifle is in decent condition.
I'm going to start working up the loads but any previous obtained data would be really welcome.

Thanks.
Doug

300 Savage case is smaller.

308 M EX 51.9 gr water
300 Sav 47.3 gr water

Really don't need a 160 gr bullet for deer sized game with the 300 savage.

You can push a 130 TSX in a 24" 99 300 Savage to 2900 fps with 37 gr of 4198 and it is a deadly killer that will shoot 3 in 1" @100.

One shot kills with 100% penetration. Would not hesitate to tackle an Elk with a broadside or rear quartering shot within 250 yards.
