I'm planning to sell a late 40s vintage Sav. 99 in .300 Savage. I think it's an "R" but I'm just not sure how to tell exactly which one it is and I don't want to mis-represent it. How can I identify my specific Model 99?

Post some pics. Impossible to confuse an R with an EG and diffficult to with an F.

1899 B 303 at top, 99R 300 Savage at bottom.

It a BIG rifle w/24" bbl in 300. They will shoot better than many bot actions.

federali, a late 1940's or early 1950's Savage 99 will be an EG with a slim schnabel forearm, or a 99R with a wide, rounded forearm. Both have triangular checkering on the forearm. Give us a serial number range and we'll tell you the year.

You are correct, it appears on club's shared photohosting site. (along with about 5000 other pictures.) Happy to pass along any questions to the owner as he is a 99 reloader/hunter/shooter.

So you admit you are violating their terms of service? Is this lack of ethics common with your club members?
