Just curious.
EDIT: Google "Kevin Petrzilka" to see a really successful Tasco 3.5-10x50 user.

No.
Too many other better choices out there.

Depends on what country it was made in. I really liked some of the older Tascos I've picked up in trade over the years.

Had a Tasco 3-9 World Class <snork> come apart on me after about 25 rounds on a 30-06. It's replacement went about 40 round on a 10/22 before it too came apart.
So, nope. I'd go open sights over a Tasco.

So, nope. I'd go open sights over a Tasco. Back in my broke young family days I ran a 3-9x40 tasco on a 700 bdl 3006. I killed a half dozen or more blacktail bucks and three elk with that combo. My wife won a 243 at a NWTF banquet a few years ago while I was in the stan. When I came home on leave I mounted that old tasco on the rifle for my son to use. I think it's a traditions omaga elite (or something like that). The scope holds a zero. That's about all I can say for it. He screws around with the rifle a little bit but hunts with my M99f 308 with a VariXII 2-7x32. A nice meat gettin huntin rig.

I started hunting... let's see... 11 years ago I think. Traded a bull-barrel Savage .308 for a Rem Mountain LSS in 30-06. I was broke, figured in my naivety that the Tasco would "work" good enough to get me through the first season... soon learned the error of my ways <g>. Replaced it with a 3-9 Burris which worked well enough to kill my first buck on a Sunday a few days before the season ended!
I let some dufus at the gun counter mount the Burris... I think it was at GI Joes because I bought the Leup rings there... said dufus slipped and scratched the receiver with his screwdriver, scratch is still there, first and last time I ever let someone else mount a scope!
The Burris got traded towards a Leup 2.5-8...

Smart trade. If I had a life mulligan I would have had fewer toys of better quality.

Kevin Petrzilka is the Nebraska farmer who shot a 202 6/8" B&C whitetail buck on 11/19/10 with an old Remington 788 in 22-250. He was shooting 55 grain BT handloads and using a Tasco 3.5-10x50 to put the bullet on target.
That's right. A guy who was shooting an old rifle with a slow twist factory specs 22-250 barrel and 55 grain BTs. No quick twist barrel or .224" bullets that are generally considered really suitable for medium game.
Heck, his whole outfit probably cost less than many of us routinely pay for McM stocks from Rick.

I just goes to show that you don't need the best, or most expensive, technology to shoot a great deer.

Nope. You don't. You need to be able to hunt, and have schit that works. The 788, works. The .22-250, works. He got DAMNED lucky on the Trashco working.

Do a little research on the Tasco Titan (Euroclass). Made in Japan for SWFA. You might be surprised. Those in the know snap them up whenever they come up on Ebay.

I've never cared for Tasco Titans, regardless of what "those in the know" have to say on the subject. My old shooting buddy Les Hassel liked 'em, but they always seemed too big/bulky/heavy for my tastes.
I was just attempting to point out that the guy who killed the highest scoring typical whitetail in the U.S. during the past 39 seasons was using a Tasco 3.5-10x50, a scope that would give many folks a case of the vapors.

I currently have 7 tasco scopes-4 which are mounted. 1. 3-9x32 on a Mossberg Chuckster .22 magnum 2. 3-9x32 on a Springfield 840 (same as a savage 340) 30-30 3. 3-9x40 on a sporterized Enfield 303 british 4. 2.5-10x44 on a Savage 110 7mm rem mag
the extras that are awaiting rifles are a 3-7x20 rimfire scope, and 2 3-9x40's The key is they are all Japanese made. I also have one that is made in the phillipines (i think) that was on a 270 that I used to have. I also have a Weatherby Mark 5 in .270 Weatherby magnum that has a 3-9x40 Redfield on it and a Ruger 77 tang safety 30-06that has an older 2-7x32 Browning scope on it. About 6 months ago I bought a brand new Marlin guide gun in 45/70 and opted to put a brand new Leupold VX1 2-7x32 on it. So yes I have no problem using a Tasco scope on my cheaper rifles, as long as they are made in Japan.
